Stockton 99 Speedway - Strandwold Properties 125 Preview

NEWS and NOTES:

• With three races remaining in the 2009 Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series, Frazier Park, CA driver M.K. Kanke maintains the championship point lead coming into Stockton 99 Speedway Saturday night for the "Strandwold Properties 125".

• Coming off five consecutive top five finishes, including a win at Stockton on August 8^th, Goleta's Greg Voigt trails Kanke by just 29 points after seven of ten SRL championship events.

• Making his SRL debut on Saturday will be the 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Rookie of the Year, 16 year old Jacob Gomes from Manteca, CA.  Gomes plans to compete in the remaining races on the 2009 SRL schedule - Stockton, Irwindale and Las Vegas.

• Newly crowned 2009 Madera Speedway Western Late Model champion, Kyle Gottula of Modesto, will be making his third SRL start of the year at Stockton 99 Speedway on Saturday.

• Scheduled to make his third SRL start of 2009, 2003 NASCAR Southwest Tour Series champion Auggie Vidovich, will be behind the wheel of the Bob Strandwold Racing #1 Chevrolet with Junior Joiner handling the crew chief duties.

• Rub It Graphics will once again show their support of the SRL by adding a $1,000 bonus to the winner's share of the prize money, making the winner's prize $4,000.

• Defending Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series champion Jim Pettit II, will once again drive the Quentin Bammer owned #03 Moeller Brothers Chevrolet in the "Strandwold Properties 125".

• 2007 SRL and two-time Stockton 99 champion, Dave Byrd will be driving the Voigt Motorsports #04 entry this weekend.

• Saturday's race schedule at Stockton 99 Speedway will feature Bombers, Basically-4-Cylinders, Figure 8's and the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series "Strandwold Properties 125" - Qualifying at 4:30pm, first Green Flag at 6:00pm
